Hiring Our Space

A beautiful venue

Grow Forrest Hill is a community garden, and a beautiful space to come and enjoy any time of the week. We often get asked if the space is for hire, and the answer is, Yes. Of course, you are more than welcome to use the space free of charge.

If you would like us to reserve it for you, or if you would like to access the glasshouse, or our range of equipment for shade, seating, and even outdoor games, these are available when you hire the space.

And feel good knowing that your koha goes straight back into compost, seedlings, tools and the weekly working bees.

Questions and Answers

  • We ask for a koha of $200 when hiring the space. This goes towards the operating cost of the garden.

Once we have emailed you back to confirm the booking, please provide your koha by clicking the button above, under the ‘Payment’ section.

  • No, there’s no public toilet inside Seine Reserve. The nearest public bathroom is a three-minute drive away at Beacroft Park (off Becroft Drive). For longer events you might choose to hire a portaloo, which you will need to arrange yourself.on text goes here

  • Unfortunately, the pizza oven is not part of the general garden hire. Due to 400 degree temperatures and open flames, it poses a health and safety risk and needs one of our trained team on site to operate, prep and clean-up afterwards.

If you’d like wood-fired pizza as part of your event, take a look at our Pizza Oven Hire page here.

  • Up to 50 guests. Each trestle table fits around 8 adults. There are 6 available.

  • We have the following games available when you hire the space.

    • Giant Jenga

    • Giant Connect Four

    • Cornhole

    • Football goals and balls

    • Quoits (Ring toss)

You will need to set these games up when you arrive, and pack them up once you have finished.

  • One of the team will meet you on site to unlock the glasshouse, walk you through the space, and answer any questions. We will show you how to access the additional tables, games, gazebos, and umbrellas. We recommend you come at least 30 minutes before your guests to get the space set up, as this will be up to you.

  • Yes, BYO drinks are fine. We just ask that you keep things tidy, take your bottles with you, and keep things civilised. Our garden is close to neighbours, so please be respectful.

  • The garden, outdoor kitchen and main paths are accessible, and we host RECREATE (young adults with disabilities) regularly. In saying that, the ground to access is either grass or mulched paths, so you need someone strong to push the chair. The outdoor kitchen deck is one step high, but we have a wheelchair ramp which can be set up on request.

  • Yes, within reason. Have a chat with us at the start of your hire and we’ll point you to what’s ready to pick. Typically, we reserve the plants for those who come to our regular working bees, but snipping the odd piece of basil, or a few lettuce leaves, is fine.

  • Yes, gentle background music is fine. We just ask that you keep the volume neighbourly and wrap things up by 7 pm.

  • Yes, there’s on-street parking along Seine Road, and a large car park on Tiber Road, right beside the garden.

  • The glasshouse and covered kitchen area give you plenty of shelter for a smaller group, and the two gazebos help cover the rest. The outdoor kitchen is not fully waterproof, so we would recommend you reschedule if there is rain in the forecast.

  • Just email us as soon as you can. We’re a small team and we understand that life happens. We can accommodate date changes, or provide a refund if requested. Just flick us an email.
